 Dorm and roommate choices are due by May 1st, 2016 for the fall term.  If your child chooses a specific roommate, the higher (worse) priority number of the two is what the housing department uses.

     There is a facebook group  of FSU students in the class of 2020 where kids are trying to meet potential roommates and there is also a website called "roomsurf.com" that other college moms have told me has worked out well for them.

      There is always the "take your chances" method which probably has the same probability of working out as any of the other methods and is likely the one we are going with. We all know of people who met their best friends when they moved into the dorms and those who roomed with friends who ended up becoming enemies, so it is sort of a crap shoot anyway. 

       I'm staying out of this as much as possible. How about you?
